WEC GROUP SCORES WINNER WITH ROVERS STAND SPONSORSHIP
Blackburn Rovers has welcomed another major local sponsor to Ewood Park.
Leading metal fabrication and engineering business WEC Group Ltd, which is based in Darwen with a workforce of 270, has agreed a two-year deal to sponsor the Darwen End stand.
The deal, which will see the stand re-named as the “WEC Group Darwen End” from the start of next season, is of particular delight to Wayne Wild, a director at WEC Group Ltd and a staunch Rovers’ supporter!
“I am a life-long Rovers supporter and season ticket holder; in fact, I used to work at the ground on match days when I was a schoolboy.
“More importantly, the national exposure available through Rovers is consistent with our objectives to build brand awareness and enhance sales and local exposure will help attract skilled individuals to join our work force. WEC is proud to be associated with Blackburn Rovers and hope the results of our partnership will match continued success on the pitch.”
Simon Williams, head of commercial and marketing at Rovers, said: “We are always very keen to strike partnerships with go-ahead local firms and this is a perfect example - the two brands complement each other very well indeed.
“WEC Group is part of the fabric of Darwen and together we have found the perfect sponsorship package for their needs. We offer our stand sponsors exposure to thousands of supporters on match days, as well as a television audience at home, and we are delighted that an ambitious company like WEC Group has seen fit to take advantage of the opportunity."
