The Estimating Sales Engineer will be responsible for increasing estimating capacity and following up on leads received. Responsibilities
  • To increase estimating capacity and follow up on sales leads
  • Working from Customer drawings to produce detailed quotations
  • Producing accurate and detailed manufacturing cost estimates generated from detailed client manufacturing drawings
  • Responsible for monitoring and managing delivery lead times and the arrangement of sub contract support
  • Create full routing information including labour and material costing
  • Liaise with sub-contract suppliers as required
  • Input all information in to the computer system in order to produce full quotations to the sales department
  • Monitoring enquiries within the company and speaking direct with customers and end users
  • Liaising with internal departments and customers to resolve queries and expedite progress.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience
  • Face to face sales- the role is 80% office based, and 20% field based so MUST be able to sell in person
  • Ability to read and interpret customer engineering drawings
  • Conversant in welding & fabrication techniques
  • Previous experience within a similar role, ideally within medium and large scale sheet metal fabrication.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with both suppliers and customers.
  • Fully computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

As part of the Head Office Finance Team, to ensure that sound Financial Accounting disciplines are implemented and maintained, ledgers & books of account are accurate, cash is properly recorded and controlled and payroll disciplines are strictly maintained. Position is key in driving period end reporting to high quality and deadlines.

  • Manage general accounts office personnel to provide a professional and efficient service underpinning validity of ledgers, records, cash & banks and general internal control environment
  • Lead monthly and annual closing processes to consistently achieve departmental deadlines. Ensure reliable, accurate and timely closings
  • Manage Accounts Payable to ensure efficient processes and prompt settlement of vendor accounts
  • Manage Accounts Receivable to ensure efficient processes and good link with Credit Control
  • Manage Cash Books, daily bank reconciliation process and petty cash

    Responsibilities
    • Responsible for all aspects of running payroll for employees, currently260, including production of payroll information for Managers.
    • Responsible for day to day running of Company Pension scheme including dealing with auto enrolment, starters, leavers, deductions and communication to scheme members
    • Administering Employee Time & Attendance System including dealing with starters and leavers, creating and changing rosters and clearing queries.
    • Handling company inductions for starts and exit interviews for leavers
    • Other employee meetings to cover HR, disciplinary and / or other employee matters
    • HR Administration including updating Organisation charts, Training matrices and other information logs
    • Other tasks as necessary to run the HR section

    Knowledge, Skills, Experience
    • Have proven relevant experience in an employee facing HR role
    • Have and be able to demonstrate sound understanding of most HR disciplines including employee relations, reward and benefits, HR reporting, HR systems, learning and development and recruitment.
    • Be able to demonstrate effective coaching, consultation, communication and negotiation skills across all key relationships and be able to build effective working relationships.
    • Pragmatic approach with experience of working with complex problems / 'grey' situations
    • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), and a time and attendance system
    • Be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge and understanding of key HR theories and HR best practice
    • Understand and be aware of current and forthcoming employment legislation changes and be aware of the implications for the Group.
    • Ability to organise and prioritise workload and to work to tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
    • Must be a strong team player with the ability to step in to assist with all areas as required.
    • Driving license and own vehicle due to travelling to other local sites

    Responsibilities
    • Ensuring material is checked for size, thickness and grade, prior to cutting and to inform the Team Leader of any quality concerns regarding the material.
    • Ensure 'One offs' are completed at all times
    • Responsible for quality of components that have been cut on the machine and standard of fettling if required.
    • Ensure customer orders are produced On Time and In Full time to required quality standard.
    • Marking up of cut parts, cleaning and fettling parts.
    • Assisting colleagues on shift, e.g. trainees, apprentices etc.
    • Ensure all Safety / Rules / Standards are adhered to, ensuring correct Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all times.
    • All control cards and nestings are filled in correctly, taking note of any special instructions.
    • All machine and personal safety procedures to be followed at all times
    • Pass on all relevant information to the next shift, who are about to start work
    • Ensure the parts are routed correctly to the next part of the process in a timely manner
