Giant Wave Artwork Model Unveiled
A scale model of a giant wave sculpture has been unveiled as part of a revamp of a Lancashire seaside resort.
When built, the new artwork will be a 35ft (10.67m) high wave and will feature a diver leaping from the top.
It will be made by m-tec, a division of WEC Group, from polished stainless steel, cost about £500,000 and will stand in Cedar Square in Blackpool which is undergoing refurbishment. The wave will also be illuminated to complement the stained glass windows of the nearby St John's church.
The full-size artwork is expected to be installed in late summer 2009.
