Key Responsibilities

This is an interesting and varied role, which involves working on some excellent specialist engineering projects such as street furniture, architectural metalwork, one-off commission pieces. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: -

  • Running project from cradle to grave, involving:
  • Contract review, purchasing, production, delivery, invoicing
  • Preparation of detailed quotations and tenders for new and existing clients.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Painter to join our team. This entry-level position is perfect for someone interested in the engineering and spray-painting industry. As a Trainee Painter, you will receive hands-on training within the despatch team while assisting experienced painters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Assist in preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding and assembling for painting
  • Paint Application: Learn to apply airless spray paint to multiple surface finishes with different machines

  • Installation & Assembly: Build up and preparation of CCTV column parts and associated accessories

  • Assist in the setup and cleanup of each project, ensuring that workspaces are kept organised and safe
  • Transport, handle materials and equipment as required
  • Participate in training to develop both painting and fitting/build up skills and techniques
  • Use forklifts, overhead cranes and manual trucks to move parts and material around various shop floor locations
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all work environments

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required—an eagerness to learn, physically fit and a strong work ethic are key

As Project Engineer you will play a crucial role in within our team, and your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring project success, meeting deadlines and maintaining the highest standards of quality. Managing multiple projects, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations to deliver solutions that meet our clients needs and expectations.


About the role
  • Ensure projects are led and fulfilled from order to full production
  • Provide technically sound engineering solutions
  • Achieve effective results and resolve any potential problems or issues
  • Main point of contact for designated blue-chip customers face to face, email and phone
  • Manage customer requirements and expectations including variations from original order
  • Prepare accurate timelines and progress reports for all aspect of each project
  • Document preparation; Production schedules, project progress
  • Develop a commercial awareness of contracts handled
  • Progress the manufacture of all parts required to schedule
  • Involvement in design and quotation process

About you

  • Apprentice trained in Welding / Fabrication / Mechanical engineering
  • A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements
