WEC Laser Unveil Latest Investment in Vehicle Fleet

We’re very excited to unveil our latest vehicle investment from our Laser Engineering division in Darwen, Lancashire. Our two new 18-ton curtain sider lorries have recently entered service in our vehicle fleet and have began to hit the roads around Lancashire and the rest of the UK.

WEC Group ranked Highly Commended at National Apprenticeship Awards 2022

Lancashire based WEC Group have once again been recognised for their outstanding contribution to apprenticeships at the national Apprenticeship Awards in London on Wednesday 30th November. The Fabrication and Welding specialist Company received the Highly Commended Award in the British Army Large Employer of the year 2022 category after winning the award at the North West regional finals in October, beating many larger organisations from the region.

Apprentice success at WEC Group's Annual Apprentice of the Year Awards 2022

Welding and fabrication specialists WEC Group hosted their 12th annual Apprentice of the Year awards ceremony at WEC Engineering Academy in Blackburn, on Thursday 24th November. The event was held at the Group’s newly built training facility on Walker Park, with apprentices, relatives, colleagues and esteemed guests attending the awards ceremony including The Mayor and Mayoress of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Councillor Suleman Khonat and Mayoress Mrs Reyhana Khonat.

WEC Group held its ninth Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Friday 1st July at Accrington Golf Club. The golf day was open to customers, suppliers, staff and commercial associates of WEC Group, and there was some hard-fought competition among the 80 players on the greens.

WEC Group helps Youth Zone Darwen go for gold!

Darwen’s biggest employer - WEC Group – has become the latest gold patron for Youth Zone Darwen taking it ‘tantalisingly close’ to its £250K fundraising target. The company, established for more than 40 years, grew from a small welding and fabrication shop in a makeshift shed in Darwen into one of the largest contract manufacturing companies in Europe.

WEC Machining invests in third Citizen Miyano

We are pleased to announce that our specialist machining division have acquired a third state-of-the-art Citizen Miyano ABX64 Multi Axis Lathe. WEC Machining has invested heavily in the latest machining technology over the past 12 months, having purchased their second Miyano in June 2020.

A Royal Unveilling

M-tec to fabricate stunning memorial sculpture
