Company statement: Russia
This declaration has been published to provide confirmation to our customers than the WEC Group have undertaken the required control measures in respect of the sanctions prohibiting the import of Russian iron and steel products processed in a third country or which originate from Russia.
These sanctions came into effect from the 30th September and are in conjunction with UK Government regulations.
The WEC Group shall review and sanction updates provided by the UK Government and make any relevant adjustments as and when required.
Implemented control measures include:
- All current and future approved steel stockholders/material/parts suppliers utilised by WEC are contracted and requested to sign our “supplier declaration” as their confirmation of compliance to these required sanctions. Suppliers may also provide their own declaration or statement to confirm this.
- All deliveries received from our approved steel suppliers must provide evidence of their original source of the product being delivered. This evidence shall be provided at the time the delivery is received at WEC, or prior to the delivery.
- All mill test certificates are reviewed to ensure compliance as per the implemented sanctions.
- If evidence is not provided during the receipt of goods, then WEC will not accept the delivery.
- Any suppliers not complying with these requirements will be temporarily removed from the WEC approved suppliers list, with consideration of them being permanently revoked.
- On request, WEC can provide certification to our customers for the products they are being, or have been provided.
By adopting this declaration, the WEC Group is fully committed to the sanctions prohibiting the import of Russian iron and steel products processed in a third country or which originate from Russia.
