m-tec's new Uganda 50 Sculpture
We are delighted to share with you the latest sculpture from our M-TEC Architectural Metalwork division, which now takes pride of place in Leicester City Centre.
The Uganda 50 sculpture was manufactured on behalf of artist Anu Patel and commissioned by Leicester City Council to mark the 50th Anniversary of Ugandan Asian migration to the city. This project has been developed in recognition of all migrating families who have made Leicester their home, celebrating the city’s proud history of welcoming refugees.
This eye-catching sculpture was fabricated at our facility in Darwen, using our in-house laser cutting, rolling and fabrication capabilities.
This intricate and complex shaped public art piece was a challenging architectural metalwork project for our highly skilled team as the individual sections were curved, intertwined and coated.
Fabricated out of mild steel, galvanised and powder coated to bright and vibrant colours, this stunning piece of artwork now captures the eye of any passerby.
