WEC Group Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week 2025!
Welding and fabrication specialists WEC Group proudly took part in National Apprenticeship Week 2025. This week-long event brings together the apprenticeship community to celebrate the achievements and opportunities that apprenticeships offer.
On Thursday 11th February, both WEC Group and MTL Advanced successfully hosted their fourth Engineering Apprenticeship Open Evening, attracting over 250 attendees eager to explore career opportunities in engineering.
The event is held for individuals interested in kickstarting a career in engineering through an apprenticeship. Visitors had the chance to learn how WEC Group’s and MTL Advanced’s apprenticeship schemes operate, as well as the diverse career paths available within the sector.
In addition to hosting their open evenings, the group actively shared regular updates across their social media channels, highlighting the progress and achievements of their current and past apprentices. The posts showed how apprentices are learning and developing their engineering skills, offering a look at their apprenticeship journeys and the experience they are gaining as a WEC Group apprentice.
WEC Group are currently in the process of recruiting their September 2025 intake of apprentices across their Darwen with Blackburn and Rotherham based sites. There are numerous apprenticeship vacancies available across the Group, including Welding & Fabrication, Laser Cutting & Press Brake and Business Administration to name but a few.
