The £7m acquisition of the Grange Lane facility, which has been occupied by MTL since 2011, is part of an ambitious programme of investment throughout the Group aimed at increasing manufacturing space and giving room for further growth.

WEC Group has invested in a state-of-the-art automated laser cutting machine for its Rotherham facility, MTL Advanced. The brand new 6m x 2.5m Trumpf CO2 TruLaser 8000 was commissioned in December 2015 as part of an ongoing investment plan to modernise MTL's machinery line-up and boost productivity.
