Last night the annual WEC Apprentice of the Year Awards took place at the Whitehall Hotel, Darwen. Guests included Darwen MP Jake Berry, the Mayor and Mayoress of Blackburn with Darwen Council and the Mayor of Darwen.

The 16m long stainless steel 'ribbon' was inspired by the curved form of ITV's new logo, twisting and turning to create different seating spaces.

AFC DARWEN football club has appointed WEC Group Commercial Director Wayne Wild as chairman. Mr Wild, group director of metal fabrication firm WEC, was invited to take up the role by club owner and manager Kenny Langford.
