WEC Group Acquire 5750 Components Ltd

WEC Group Ltd, a Darwen based engineering company has acquired Liverpool-based laser cutting company 5750 Components Ltd which was established nearly 15 years ago as one of the first laser cutting companies in the UK and employs 20 staff.

WEC Academy Becomes a member of AWFTE

The WEC Welding & Engineering Training Academy has become a member of the Association of Welding and Fabrication Training and Education (AWFTE). AWFTE was established in 1990 creating a national network for welding and fabrication professionals in the education and training sector.

Steel Masters Bridge the Gap

A 75 tonne piece of Darwen has been unveiled as the centrepiece of a £200 million regeneration scheme in Bristol. Made completely from stainless steel, the unique £1.8 million, 200ft bridge links the city's Temple Quay harbour with the city centre.

Andre Oojier, Blackburn Rovers Defender and Dutch International, presented our Training Academy Apprentices with their awards last night at WEC Group's first Annual Apprentice of the Year Awards. Amongst our prestigious guests was the Right Honourable Janet Anderson MP, Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, and Graham Burgess Chief Executive of BWDBC and local council.
