WEC Group have been crowned as the Manufacturer of the Decade at the Insiders Made in the North West Awards 2022


WEC Group is delighted to have been crowned as the Manufacturer of the Decade at Insider's Made in the North West Awards 2022. The Group had been shortlisted for the commemorative 10th anniversary award due to their success at previous award ceremonies.

WEC Group have been recognised at past Made in the North West Events winning both the Manufacturing Apprenticeship / Training Scheme Award as well as the Manufacturer of the Year at both regional and national level.

WEC was shortlisted alongside 9 other former winners of this prestigous award and the category was subjected to a public vote, with WEC outvoting some of the regions most established manufacturing businesses, including household names such as Jaguar Land Rover, Fort Vale Engineering and ATG Access among many others.

The awards evening took place on Thursday 5th May at The Lowry Hotel, Manchester where a number of companies from the North West were celebrated for their vast achievements over the past year.

Over the past 10 years, WEC Group has experienced major growth and success with staff count increasing from 300 to around 900, and turnover soaring from £33m in 2011 to over £103m in 2021, thanks to continuous investments in state-of-the-art machinery and apprentice training.

To build on this success, WEC Group is about to open the doors of their brand new Engineering Academy, which will act as one of the UK's main centres of Welding Excellence, and the company's looking ahead to further growth and successes over the next decade.
