Celebrating 10 Years of HTA as Part of WEC Group
We are proud to celebrate 10 years since HTA Group became part of WEC Group this month. Over the past decade, HTA Group has continued to strengthen its position as one of the UK’s leading subcontract manufacturing companies through ongoing investment, technological advancement and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Originally established in 1973, HTA Group operates from a 90,000 sq. ft. advanced manufacturing facility in Coventry, supplying laser cut parts, precision sheet metal components and fabricated assemblies to customers across a wide range of industries. Today, the business supports sectors including automotive, defence, rail, oil and gas, transportation, power generation and special purpose machinery.
Since joining WEC Group, HTA Group has benefited from substantial investment in both technology and infrastructure. One of the most significant developments has been the introduction of a state-of-the-art in-house powder coating facility at the Coventry site. Featuring the latest automation technology, the facility provides customers with a high-quality, cost-effective and environmentally friendly finishing solution. The powder coating plant is capable of processing components up to 1500mm high, 3000mm long and 800mm wide while offering an extensive range of finishes and RAL colours.
Further investments have also been made to strengthen manufacturing capabilities and increase production efficiency. In 2024, HTA Group added a 12kW Trumpf Fibre Laser to its facility, followed by the installation of a new 24kW Fibre Laser in 2026. These major investments ensure the business remains at the forefront of modern manufacturing technology while continuing to deliver the highest standards of quality and service..
Alongside investing in machinery, HTA Group has also focused on developing future talent within the industry. Dedicated apprentice training areas have been introduced to support the next generation of welders and fabricators, helping to address the ongoing manufacturing skills gap.
Throughout the past decade, HTA Group has also exhibited at major industry exhibitions including Subcon and Southern Manufacturing, showcasing its expanding capabilities and strengthening relationships with customers across the UK manufacturing sector..
