New Facility Moves Forward into Next Phase of Heavy Machining Expansion
Work is continuing to move forward at pace on our new Heavy Machining and Nuclear Fabrication facility in Blackburn, which represents a major investment in expanding our machining capability and supporting future growth.
A key milestone in the next phase of development is already well underway, with groundwork for our third machine now progressing on site. The foundations have been dug and installation work is currently in motion, marking an important step in increasing the capacity of the facility. Once complete, this machine will further strengthen our ability to deliver large-scale, complex machining projects.
Alongside this progress, we are pleased to confirm that the first two machines are now fully installed and commissioned and are already operational within our production setup.
The first machine on site is the Correa Fox M, which provides strong capability for large-scale precision machining work. This is supported by the Correa Axia, fitted with a 20-tonne rotary table, significantly enhancing our ability to machine larger and more complex components.
Both machines are already playing a key role in day-to-day operations, improving efficiency, accuracy and overall capacity across the site. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening in-house capability and providing a complete manufacturing solution for our customers.
The facility has been designed to support a wide range of industries, including nuclear, defence and heavy engineering. By continuing to invest in advanced machinery and infrastructure, we are ensuring we can meet the demands of complex, high-specification projects both now and in the future.
