Apprentice Open Evening success at WEC Group’s Engineering Academy in support of National Apprenticeship Week 2024
Welding and fabrication specialists WEC Group hosted their second Apprenticeship Open Evening at their WEC Engineering Academy in Blackburn, on Thursday 8th February in support of National Apprenticeship Week 2024. The open evening was the second held at the Group’s newly built training facility on Walker Park, with over 150 guests attending the evening, with many hopeful to join WEC Group as a future engineering apprentice.
The open evening gave visitors the opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art engineering facility, meet with WEC Group’s Welding Instructors and speak with current WEC apprentices about their own experiences as an apprentice.
WEC Group’s Academy wasn’t the only facility to host an open evening during National Apprenticeship Week. The Group’s Rotherham, Coventry and Yorkshire based division’s also welcomed potential apprentices to their facility to showcase their range of engineering apprenticeships available. Throughout the week, the Group welcomed over 300 visitors during their open events.
WEC Group are currently in the process of recruiting their September 2024 intake of apprentices across their Darwen with Blackburn, Rotherham, Coventry and Sherburn-In-Elmet based sites. There are a total of 50 apprenticeship vacancies available across the Group, including Welding & Fabrication, Laser Cutting & Press Brake and Business Administration to name but a few.
